The key tool in Global Logistics Shield to maintain timely freight payment amongst participants, is The GLS Timely Freight Payment Monitoring & Alerting Scheme, consisting of the following elements:
- logging invoices from creditors: the creditor must log invoices for payment by participant how to do?
- validating logged invoices with participant: GLS will validate with participant that participant agrees to invoice how is this done?
- validating timely payment from participant to creditor: when invoice is due, GLS will request your confirmation that invoice is settled in time how is this done?
- follow-up on overdue payment from participant to creditor: if invoice not paid in time, GLS will follow-up directly with covered participant how is this done?
- raising AMBER ALERT for participant with overdue payments directly to all participants/creditors, to partner industry directories and to partner industry credit default reporting services how is this done?
- clearing of AMBER ALERT for participant in case of overdue payments duly settled how is this done?
- raising RED ALERT for participant unable to, or unwilling to, clear overdue debt, to all participants/creditors, to partner industry directories and to partner industry credit default reporting services what does this mean?
- support to creditors with overdue payments for bankruptcy proceedings, of self-initiation of bankruptcy proceedings
